"A Great Alternative or Supplement to Assisted Living"
Learn more about Home Care compared to Assisted Living.

Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) has been offering personalized assistance to older Minnesotans for over seven years.  Our care plans enable people, of any age or health condition, to maintain control over their life and stay living in the comfort of their own home!

Most people are familiar with Assisted Living, which offers independent senior living apartments with services available such as social activities, meals, housekeeping, and home health aide services such as medication administration, mobility assistance, or personal care assistance.  Services are usually a la carte so people can choose which ones they want or don't want to use.  The downfall of assisted living, for many people, is having to move out of their home into an apartment, a new and less private environment.  Also, social activities in Assisted Living are planned to meet the general interest of a group rather than an individual's interests. The meals are not always what people like or have been accustomed to eating in their life. Also, the home health aide services are a la carte and can get expensive as people start needing more and more assistance.

With Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care), people get to stay living in their own home and we bring the benefits of Assisted Living into their home, personalized to their needs. Our caregivers can take people on social outings based on their interests, prepare meals to their liking, help with housekeeping, and do home heatlh aide services such as medication administration, mobility assistance, personal care assistance, and so much more. (See
Baywood Home Care services (formerly Homewatch Home Care services)  for a complete description of the Home Health Aide and Registered Nurse services that we can offer to our clients.) Click Here to watch a video about Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care).

With Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care), people do not pay a la carte for services, but rather pay for the amount of time that the caregiver spends with them and that time is managed to meet their individual needs. This can be more cost effective and beneficial for many people.  To look at a general cost comparison of Assisted Living and Home Care in Minnesota click here.  Another benefit with Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) is that a Registered Nurse manages all of the care that is provided for a client and keeps open communication with family members.  Click here to read more about the benefits of home care compared to assisted living.

People often consider Assisted Living because it offers a memory care unit. What people don't always know is that Baywood Home Care caregivers (formerly Homewatch Home Care caregivers) are able to live in our client's homes to provide them around-the-clock memory care. An important benefit to live-in home care for people with dementia is that they get to stay home, where it is familiar and comfortable, combined with continuity in care by working with the same caregiver(s). Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) is a great option for people who need memory care.

Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) might not be the choice for everyone, but more and more people are realizing that they don't have to move. We believe that Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) offers everything Assisted Living does, and more!  If you would like to read some testimonials from former and existing Baywood Home Care clients, click here.

Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) provides home care in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Mankato surrounding areas.  We will do 24-hour care in most outlying areas of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) can also supplement the care in Assisted Living!
Some people who move to Assisted Living eventually need more care and assistance than the Assisted Living can provide and they are asked to move, again, to a Nursing Home. Unfortunately, such people often end up moving to a Nursing Home to receive the care they need; when in fact, they would much rather stay in their Assisted Living apartments. It is completely unneccessary for them to feel forced into moving to a nursing home!
Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) can provide hourly or live-in home care within people's Assisted Living apartments so that they can continue living in Assisted Living residences.  Our caregivers are trained and experienced to provide care which is very similar to that which is provided in a Nursing Home.  The biggest difference is that you get one-on-one care from caregivers that you get to know and trust -- in your home, without moving!
Usually, Assisted Living residences are very happy about such arrangements, because then the residents can continue living there, despite needing more care.

So remember... Baywood Home Care (formerly Homewatch Home Care) and Assisted Living care can work together in Minnesota!
