
Home Care can be a great alternative
to a Nursing Home
Baywood Home Care can provide Nursing Home-level care at home (with the exception of HHA-administered insulin injections).
There is seldon a reason that a person needs to move to a nursing home. Making this move is a choice–usually an unnecessary one.
What is common to Home Care and Nursing Home Care:
1. Caregivers have same training.
2. R.N. supervision
3. Cost similar (individual cases vary)
4. Medicare-covered Physical Therapy provided in both settings.
5. The same care, including use of mechanical lifts, catheter care, tube feedings, etc. is provided in both settings.
Advantages of Home Care:
1. Clients live in familiar surroudings, have their pets, live the way the want go live, eat what they want, etc.
2. People have their privacy.
3. People can receive friends and family at home, instead of trying to make new friends.
4. Memory care can be at home, which can be better.
5. Family has peace of mind, knowing that the home care R.N. Care Manager is ensuring that their loved one is well taken care of in all respects.
Disadvantage to Home Care:
Primarily needing to deal with house maintenance.
